SPRING BREAK WAMP WAMP

R&R
Danny Dub Glassin' It

Godaaamn, it's been a minute, these past couple weeks have sucked some major ass although I managed to do some cool shit. The show @ Evergreen was insane, the sold out crowd was in the gym, it felt more like a party made possible by the dope sounds of; Gabriel Teodros, Khingz, Blue Scholars, and Zion I. Teodros and Khingz combined their act to open, and killed it, they used to be a group called Abyssinian Creole. Then after about an hour open set where Teodros and Khingz got the whole gym dancing the Blue Scholars took the stage. Holy Fuck. I had been waiting to see these guys since I first heard "No Rest For the Weary" like Sophomore year of highschool, thanks to Brian ( i think it was in some ski movie). They're a hip-hop group that I've heard all their music, and constantly just shuffle all their discography and have never gotten sick of it. I felt like a little kid, knew every lyric to every song and just straight had agreat time, Mo and I were like ten feet off front stage.. That's why there's no pictures from the show...the whole show honestly went by in a flash. Blue Scholars flipped a bunch of stuff, like an hour and a half set; a couple of Long March E.P which I was psyched on, and Geo even did a couple freestyles. They also dropped a couple of new songs, one of which is a sample of that Owl City song. Fuck Owl City. I hate that guy, he should pay Blue Scholars to make his songs good, because they turned that song into the illest beat, Sabzi is on some other shit. You should probably click that link if you click any one this entry. Zion I was unbelievable. I was actually kind of worried, well more anxious, because the Scholars killed it. But Zumbi and singer Courtney Holiday took the stage opening with Antenna and the 808's were taken to another level. Show was dope, no pictures though. It happens.

We did go to Vancouver over the weekend, and wow. I'd been before but not on the level we experienced it, I want to go back every weekend except for Border issues and some random Swedish kids sleepwalking into our room and freaking the fuck outta me everything was ill. It's nice to be able to legally drink it a country, spent way too much money. We stayed right in downtown at the Cambie Hostel, pretty sure the bar downstairs, which is actually the entire downstairs is open 24 hours. We got back at like 4 a.m and the place was packed, good thing we were on the 3rd floor because it was pretty loud, but we had a pitcher and met some Swedish kids that were shitfaced and hilarious, however they ended up for some reason coming into our room like either drunk beyond consciousness or sleepwalking; my vote was for a combination. It should be a given if you stay in a hostel, weird shit will happen. But if we went back i'd stay at the same place. Following a pretty bad hangover, we got some coffee and hit up the well known Cannabis Culture shop the next morning where we were invited upstairs to test out some B.C bud; legally. Whatsup. Hangover cured. We left Vancouver at like 1:30 and got back in Seattle at like 6 because of a two hour vehicle inspection provided to us by the U.S Border. Great to be home. Here's some recent pictures.

A Long Week

NEW KICKS

Just copped my first pair of retro Jordan's..50% off @ Pike Fit CO. Place is going outta business so there's mad deals...it's on Pike and Bellevue. Somehow between yesterday and today I hit up 35th N, Goods, and Sneaker City and didn't buy a pair until I was walking up Pike today and saw a Store Closing sign...SNIPE.
I got shopping skills, all thanks to my Grandma for that. This is a quiet, shitty, extremely slow and painful week with a fat 12 page English paper due on Friday. Not much to upload but had a nice dinner at the newly opened Rom Mai Thai up on Broadway, the Chicken Pecan dish was amazing. Saturday I will be a witness of BLUE SCHOLARS & ZION-I sharing the same stage @ Evergreen State. I've been listening to both of these groups since early in high school, and for them to play the same show is unreal for me. Pretty psyched, hopefully I can get some good photos from the show. Other then that this week is gonna suck cause of finals so I'm thinking of an update sometime early next week after this much deserved weekend.

While I'm creating this blog, I really don't know what I'm doing but adding sections like the Weekly RR ( Random Roadtrip Image) is a good start. I thought of doing another segment called like Where's the Needle? or I Spy the Needle or something like that. I then realized how easy it would be to find a large fucking U.F.O shaped thing with an antenna on top in a piture, usually taken with my cell phone. SO I'll try to figure out how to hide the Space Needle in pictures or something but I'm no Jackson Pollock. For now i'm just gonna upload photos of the Space Needle from all over town.
Here's some mobile uploads and some lyrical porn to get up on.

Faire

Your Weekly R&R: A deer thing in Wyoming bats it's eyelashes as we drive by...

R&R= Random Roadtrip image...I know I'm a genius. I'm thinking weekly..HAPPY MONDAY! Can someone tell me this gazelle/deer looking creature...we came across it on some backroad, and apparently someone caught her eye..

Anyways..Here's some shots/ videos from the Faire tonight, we just got back. There were actually alot more people there last night, but tonight the jazz band was awesome, and we saw some young talent in a rapper from Detroit, King Pulse. I took a video of his first song but didn't record a a piece he flipped to If I Ruled the World, pretty tight though. Mo was going on too late and a couple of us wanted to eat/go to bed so we left early..I could probably hear him from my window if I tried hard enough I'm right next to Faire. Anyways, here's the failure of shots and a couple videos I got...With some other stuff to make up for it. If the videos don't work check later in the day I'm tired..

Goodnight Seattle.

Typical Sundays...

Weird it's actually being Seattley outside, I spy the Space Needle! I'm getting some much procrastinated homework done here at Bauhaus with a little help from Justin Vernon. He is better known from his band Bon Iver, but he did a bunch of solo stuff before Bon Iver formed.Perfect study music. Anyways- gettin' work in so I can play tonight; Faire's notorious Sunday 'ReRun' night has been the cafe's biggest event, turn-out wise, and considering I basically spent my weekend there, why not cap it off right? The past two nights there's been some nice open mic/jam madness going on and it was tight, my boy Mo tore up the open mic on Friday...I'll upload some mp3's in the near future, like 45 minutes when I'm trying to distract myself from this English paper again... But Faire has some real good vibes, and we heard Sunday's are the night to be there so check for some pictures/videos later tonight! Back to the homework grind...hope it's not gray where you are.

Intro

So
I figured while I up and dipped to the beautiful Northwest over the summer, I might as well find some online real estate where I can leave all my shit,- my photo's, videos, songs, recordings, thoughts, lyrics, designs whatevaa. I should have done this six months ago, anyways-Seattle is pretty awesome, and I'm gonna try to keep this up to date so I can show you haters! No but really I just want a place where I can throw down all my stuff, everything I'm going through at that certain time... What I'm doing, creating, hanging with/at; how we get it done here.. That's why this is THA BASEMENT, where you can find anything; your pop's varsity, your old trophy's, like all the nostalgics you know. I'm making this nostalgic, if not for anyone but myself, I'm not trying to brag , I've never been about that, just about showing my experiences.
In the Summer of 2009 we (see photo above) drove to Seattle, Washington and I have been living here ever since. I love Massachusetts and it will always be my home but there's something about it here. I'll try to show you, so check out tha basement and see how I'm livin in the 206.

Oh - an intro to some SEA Hip-hop, get acclimated.
